Everyday Breakfast at Tapsi ni Vivian Cainta

This is the recent rave in our hometown and since my mom saw that there are a lot of patrons in this restaurant we opt to try it too.

OVERVIEW:
Tapsi ni Vivian is a carinderia type of restaurant that sells mostly tapsilog but they also sell other home cooked foods.

The one that we visited was located along Ortigas Ext. near Brookside Hills Subdivision in Cainta, Rizal. According to my friends, this one is the 2nd branch already. The first one was at Marikina.

SERVICE:
This is our second visit on Tapsi ni Vivian. During our first visit we arrived at around 9 or 10 am and it was weekday so the restaurant is not very jampacked. Thus, the staffs easily accomodate each and every customer and our orders were served in no time. However, during our second visit we arrived at around 10-11 am on a sunday. We had to do double parking because all the slots were taken plus the staff were busy with the numerous customers and the orders were not easily served. I commend the guard of the restaurant for he did  his job well during those times that we visited the area especially in arranging the parking of their customers.

FOODIES:

Bulalo soup (:

During our first visit I ordered for lechon kawali silog while my mom ordered for dinuguan silog.

Lechon Kawali Silog
The lechon kawali silog is super worth the price. It was delicious and with many servings aa well. The way they cooked their egg is commendable... not well done but not very raw.

Dinuguansilog
The dinuguan was also delicious. It was cooked the way we wanted it.

During our second visit my mother ordered for the same combo. I ordered for adobo silog and my sister ordered for their tapsilog.

Adobosilog
Their adobo silog is ok. It taste good but I like the lechon kawali better.

Tapsilog
As for their tapsilog, my sister and I find it quite sweet. For me, tapa king's better.

Halo halo (this is too sweet)

Saba con yelo (must try!)

Mais con yelo

Really had a great time dining here. Someday, I'll try their calamares. It looks delicious. For those who want to try their food I personally suggest that you eat during those time where the place was not so jampacked so you'll enjoy your stay better.

Highschool memories reminisced: Pay and Eat Budbod Special

During my highschool days every time we’ll spend long hours in school running errands for the school newspaper or for other extracurricular activities we usually have this Taytay native food delivered. Now that high school was more or less 9 years ago I suddenly miss the taste and the comfort brought by budbod when I was young so I revisited its store before attending the first advent mass.

Combo 3: Pork + Chicken + Beef + Lumpiang Shanghai Budbod
(Php 65)

The taste of the budbod is still the same. Love it!

This is indeed a must try especially if you’re already within the area. You never go wrong with budbod.

Having merienda with Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe: Mama Chit’s Coffee House

My parents heard about this restaurant in a local TV show and since it was near our area we decided to take a look at their place however it was so jam-packed during that time that we decided to come back some other time and that time is now.

OVERVIEW:
This place is located near the church of Our Lady of the Abandoned and the Shoe Museum in Marikina.
Our Lady of the Abandoned Church

Side walk of the Shoe Museum

Riding the gigantic stiletto... Cool! :)
For visitors with vehicle you can park your vehicle at the church then walk your way on the restaurant. For commuters, you can ride a jeep at the jeepney terminal under the Katipunan flyover. The jeepney will take you to the city center. Just ask the jeepney driver if they will pass by the church of Our Lady of the Abandoned-San Roque.

SERVICE:
I can say that their service improved as compared to the first time we went there. During our first visit they warn each and every customer that the order will take about 45 minutes to 1 and ½  hour to be served but now they were able to serve our orders in approximately 20 to 30 minutes in spite the numerous customers. And their servers were friendly too.

THE PLACE:
Upon reaching the coffee house this is what welcomed us.
Wacky burger shot. So cute! :)
And the house is full of antiques. It was like a museum of memorabilia and Coca-Cola merchandise. It is so nice- picturesque that is.
Counter shot :)

Queuing... Look at the old soda cans on their ceiling

Marilyn Monroe

Elvis Presley

Old slot machine and lampara

This is so cool... Old iron :)

Old ice shaver. I think we had this when I'm younger

Old converse shoes

Memorabilia of a lady taken in black and white

Old pharmacy signage. Cool! :)

FOODIES:
So we queued for our food and it was served after a while. We ordered for a family burger, creamy pesto and carbonara.

Family Burger (Php 600)

Mama Chit's family Burger. This is so overwhelming and mouthwatering.
It was even bigger than the one that we ate at Cebu Casa Verde. So yummy! :)
The family burger is humongous. It can be eaten by 4-8 persons and be very filled. I think they use wheat bread for their burger that makes it even more tummy filling.

Mama Chit's Carbonara (Php 150)

Mama Chit's Creamy Pesto (Php 150)
The creamy pesto is really creamy but I like the carbonara better.

My tummy, as well as my family’s, was so satisfied. ^_______^ Kudos to Mama Chit's.

This is indeed a must visit. By the way, I agree with the local show host when she said that this place served the best burgers because so far their version of family burger is really something.

Bittersweet Symphony Verse 2: Organized Clutter

This is basically the same template as my version 1. I just edited few codes and add more icons and blog pets as well (see bottom of page). But then my scatterbrain still needs her notepad so I'm sticking with this. (:

Feel free to browse thru my musings/rants/escapades as I tour around my country (and hopefully beyond)... Enjoy! :)
