Orientation Day

Journey to PLE Journal #22

Topnotch made their orientation for the all 5 sections today at UP Bahay ng Alumni.

The place was so jam-packed. But the benefit of it was I was able to see much friends today starting with Anne Cocos, the Feb 2014 PLE topnotcher, other college friends as well as medicine classmates and friends.

Anne Cocos giving her talk about how to pass the boards.
She will now be a Topnotch mentor. (:
Bad quality photo.Sorry!
This is Tope and Deanna. I used to be the adopted ate of their group.
Haven't seen them since after grad and I was actually not expecting to see them
today. They were enrolled in section Cambridge (Fairview) which made me
more frustrated that I was not able to be included in the Fairview section and landed
in New Manila instead.
Food trip at Diliman... Feat. Jing's Fruit Shakes

Mang Larry's Isaw
With Jess and Cynthia at Rodic's for lunch
Today is a long day but not so tiring.

Tomorrow will be our diagnostic exam and I’m sort of nervous for that. I actually feel like I do not know anything about medicine theoretically especially the basic sciences. So I’ll still hope for the best.

The first day will start soon...

Journey to PLE Journal #21

We just register for our medicine board exam review today… So this is really is it.

Registration site at Fairview Quezon City.
We opted to fill the forms in the back and then while writing we realized
that we will never manage to seat in the back row during lectures
so we have to be at the review center early.
Perks of having your review at topnotch.
They give a clipboard/file case for the handouts.
The primer is also included for steps in filling for board exam in PRC,
study guide, books to read, etc.
With my med friends. We head to Fisher Mall after registration to have
lunch and some coffee then go back to our respective homes.
The PLE review is about to start so I have to prepare for more adventures (or misadventures perhaps). I'm so excited and nervous for this. Hopefully topnotch will help us but of course the main effort in studying will still rely on my dedication and perseverance.

Lord, this I lift up to you...

SJDH Annual Interns case Presentation

Journey to PLE Journal # 20

Today is the Annual Case Presentation of San Juan de Dios Hospital... While the presentor say her piece I had a chance to chat with Kat, 1st year OB resident. We sort of talked about me going to have my review on May. One of the things that she said strucked me. And I quote her, "Ang lapit na. Yung review ienjoy mo ha. Ok naman yun eh kasi kahit papaano hawak mo yung oras mo basta parte partehen mo kasi madami. Basta ang isipin mo na lang e yung ibang doktor nga alam tong mga inaaral ko ngayon dapat alam ko rin! Kasi magagamit mo naman talaga sya kahit hindi man lumabas sa boards gagamitin mo din sya sa practice."

Sometimes, when you are near something that you are very aware that it will be a turning point in your life you just need someone to make you realize that what you will go thru will all be worth it. Right now that random conversation with Kat really gave a tap on the back and sort of relieve as well. Probably that was one of the reason why God let me watch the intern's case inspite all the negative stuffs that happened yesterday. On the other hand, watching how the presentors presented their case made me miss presenting case reports. Soon... For now, boards muna.

Congrats guys! (:

Holy thursday bonding at Leslie's Restaurant, Tagaytay

Most of my friends were having their residency already and this holy week is the only time that we'll be able to meet each other.

We initially plan to visit Pangasinan and tour Alaminos and Ian's home as well but due to a lot of reasons (i.e. schedule conflicts, unable to buy bus tickets, etc.) we decided to spend the holy week in Tagaytay instead.

I have been to Tagaytay for a couple of times but I have never tried Leslie's or Josephine's. My friends then opted to dine on either restaurant.
Car shot (Photo grabbed from Fai)

Tagaytay was so populated today. Traffic was everywhere. Super hassle. Good thing Leslie's Restaurant can still accommodate customers even though they have a lot of patrons today.

Great veranda

Overlooking Taal

Taal volcano

We ordered for a couple of spicy foods.

Laing con Hipon (Php 249)

The laing con hipon was ok. This one was not spicy but the shrimp was cooked well.

Seafoods Bicol Express (Php 399)

Karen also wanted to try the seafood bicol express. I find the dish cool as well since I often eat bicol express that is made of pork. Anyway, the seafood bicol express is superb. A must try dish. It was not so spicy and very flavorful. My new fave.

Bulalo Special (Php 999)
Of course, we will never miss Tagaytay's famous bulalo... Yum! Yum!

More than the food we also enjoyed the serenade of the restaurant's house singers and acoustic players. We also had a great time catching up while waiting for the traffic to subside.

Hay! You can never go wrong with great friends and great restaurant. Two thumbs up for Leslie's Restaurant.

Sweet... (:

Bittersweet Symphony Verse 2: Organized Clutter

This is basically the same template as my version 1. I just edited few codes and add more icons and blog pets as well (see bottom of page). But then my scatterbrain still needs her notepad so I'm sticking with this. (:

Feel free to browse thru my musings/rants/escapades as I tour around my country (and hopefully beyond)... Enjoy! :)
