Starbucks' 6750 is love...

Journey to PLE Journal #8

I went to go to Ayala to supposedly meet a friend. While waiting, I was reminded of Starbucks’ at 6750. This was the place where The Morning Rush (DJs Chico, Gino and Delamar of RX 93.1) had their outdoor broadcast during the launch day of the Starbuck’s card. During that time, I wanted to go there to see the trio but failed to wake up early. That event made me too curious and today I was able to visit and study there.

I am really fascinated with the place - spacious, elegant and cozy. I am indeed so amused from the moment I entered their place up to the time I left it. Here are some photos of the coffee shop.

If only I am not that shy to photograph each and every corner of that store I definitely would. I will visit the store again sometime in spite its distance from where I live in.

I think I just found another perfect study place for me – someplace which made me feel just like home.

COUNTDOWN: 262  days to go before PLE August 2014

Day 31: Guardian

January 31, 2013
Day 31: Guardian

Happiness is having someone who appreciates you in spite of your imperfections and not so diligent acts. I am just so flattered today to at least have known someone as Dra. Chua-Villa. As for me, she was the one of those seniors that I had whom I can call mommy just like Mami Weis (my senior resident at OM, Surgery), Mami Ara and Mami Mara (both were my senior residents at OM, Internal Medicine).

At least, even if I know for a fact that I will not be a physiatrist I somehow enjoyed those times that I got to work with her. Those were one of the very few moments that I looked forward to during my 2 weeks stay at Rehab. Thank you! J

Addendum:
Ending the January with Starbucks…
We had just claimed our Starbucks’ January coupons. Wee!

But after drinking Venti I just realized that I will never drink that amount of coffee in one sitting. I’ll be more that happy to have a tall drink alone. I had strong palpitations afterwards… hehe!

I have started rehab with a Toblerone from Maam Divine (Physical Therapist) and I am ending it with another banana cake from Maam daisy and Maam Maui (Rehab secretaries). Food is love. J

Another foodtography… Our breakfast… Home made hotdog sandwich… J

I am indeed grateful for a wonderful January… met new friends, reunite with old friends, great happy memories. But I am somehow excited for this day to close… I am so excited for tomorrow… Anesthesia intern on duty! J

Affirm the positive, visualize the positive and expect the positive, and your life will change accordingly.

Side Notes:
Another patient of ours went remarkable well today. He never responded to me before but today he talked and answered my questions. J

Pansit Palabok from Jay for breakfast… (FINALLY! J)

Affirm the positive, visualize the positive and expect the positive, and your life will change accordingly.

Day 29: Improvement

January 29, 2013
Day 29: Improvement

Probably one of the most memorable department that I went through in internship was Internal Medicine. Not because I want to be an internist someday or because it was my first rotation but rather because I enjoyed each and every day of my patient interaction when I was there. It seems like even if I am in other department I always go back to the wards of IM may it be ICU, service or pay.

I am currently at Rehab Medicine and I still have a lot of patients referred to our department from IM… and that is definitely not a thing I complained of. I met this elderly patient at the service ward who was a case of CVD with right residuals. Upon admission, she was placed at the ICU and was eventually transferred to the wards. When I first saw her, she was very cooperative, bubbly and answers almost all of my questions with grace. However, days after her referral she was intubated due to aspiration pneumonia. She looks so ill and had undergo CPR and defibrillation to be revived. Good thing that after defibrillation she go back to her senses again. Yesterday, I visited her and she was still intubated and ill looking. I was somehow looking for the first patient that I saw - the bubbly granny that I used to talk with. After talking with her relatives I, together with my consultant, left. My consultant told me to visit her today which I did. Much to my surprise she was extubated, moving both his extremities (although her right is still weaker that her left) and was able to do some dance moves. I am just so happy to see her again like that. I hope she recovers fully. To my happiness, I asked her if we can have a pic taken and she agreed with full smiles. Here is our picsJ

Looking back my med school days I enjoyed the Neuro and Renal part of medicine and just that – the rest I hate. I can probably say that among my med subjects Medicine is my weakest. I almost have anxiety attacks when I am taking med exams. Further, I never really spared my precious time reading my textbook for that (except for the Neuro and Renal part) and after reading it I immediately forgot. But my SJDH internship makes me enjoy it a little like when I was still in med1. I may not say that I am now motivated to study medicine but somehow I have the drive. Thanks to my mentors and patients. I will always look back to these days that I shared a year with you. J

(Omelette)

(Lechon Kawali)

(Starbucks’ Mocha Frappuccino)

It will always be fun to eat with friends…

With times like this, I remember those days that we used to have potluck for lunch nung 3rd year med.
Old but fun filled memories.

Day 25: Gratitude

Day 25: Gratitude

Surprised!
First, for the pasalubong I got.. I was actually sleeping when I received it. Thanks! J

Second, a friend of mine, Janey, gave me a slice of her choco caramel cake yesterday.
And I was craving for it since then so I bought one for lunch… J

Thank you for this Jane.. So delicious! And you just gave it at the most perfect time… Super gutom na kasi ako kakahintay sa pagtapos ng CS eh… hehe, almost 2:30 na pero haven’t taken my lunch. Super savior ang iyong cake… wee! J

Third, I had another GPC today. Banana cake from our last out patient in rehab. Wee! J Yum!

I also catch up with Cla today. Met with him at MOA after my rehab stuffs were done. And, even if the universe did not gave him a good day since morning at least it the universe decided to be good to him somehow as his day ends.

Got a black Starbucks’ 2013 planner, the one that he really like… even though most were telling that it’s already out of stocks.

Then share conversations while drinking our frappuccino and eating our cake at Bo’s coffee.

Hay, Cla never fail to bring me to places I have never been. Thanks! J

Day 22: Cravings

January 22, 2013
Day 22: Cravings

I so much wanted to have a J. Co donut right now. L
There’s this med rep who gave all my consultants today a dozen of J. Co… and it made me miss Alcapone… argh! Tsk!

Anyway, in replacement to my J. Co donut craving…
God sent some Yellow cab pizza at our department. It was from a visiting senior physical therapist in out institution but is now working abroad. Whew, I so love food! J

Lastly, I really enjoyed being at St. Luke’s Global City. It was so cozy there and I so love their Starbucks’. Anyway, I went there today thinking that their Starbucks’ probably still have green or black planners… However, all I see was this…
I also visited 7 other Starbucks’ and it was only the white planner that is available.
Sayang!  But, I had fun traveling from Taguig to Ayala. Comfort places… J

For those who were looking for black and green Starbucks’ 2013 planner do not visit these branches for they have none:

(2) Starbucks’ St. Luke’s Global,
(3) Starbucks’ Greenbelt 3,

Day 20: Freebies

January 20, 2013
Day 20: Freebies

I am so broke today. I bought an LPG and when I was about to withdraw the bank was offline so I have to pay the delivery guy with the emergency money in my wallet. To aggravate things further, I also almost lost my credit card. When I found it I already reported the incident and the bank blocked my account already… so I have to wait for the delivery of the new card. Hay!

But anyway, thanks for the McDo freebies…
That is what I had tor today. It’s a privilege or bonus treat when you purchased 2500 worth of products using your Metrobank credit card. Buti na lang I kept the coupons so I was able to redeem it… without it I do not have anything for lunch because my ATM is offline until about 8 PM. Whew! God always shower me with blessings when I needed it most. J

Moreover, I am about to finish another Starbucks’ card.

I was so thankful to the guy who was in front of me. He ordered for a drink and since he was not collecting stickers anymore he asked me if I wanted to have his sticker so I said yes… Afterwards, he also asked the lady customer in the other cashier to gave her stickers to me since she is not collecting stickers either… They were so nice. By the way, both of them ordered Christmas edition drinks… Wow! J Yey! 3 more to go and I’ll be getting another planner for a friend. May thanks to good samaritans. May your kindness be fruitfully returned…

Day 17: Giving

January 17, 2013
Day 17: Giving

Amidst the gloominess and troubles today… I just feel so blessed that someone I do not know of gave their Starbucks’ sticker to me. Showing kindness to a stranger was very much appreciated indeed. I hope I can return the favor to someone someday.

Day 11: Musings

January 11, 2013

Day 11: Musings

Well, the fun never stops.

I went to shopping with mom today.
Bonding!
Fun!

At night, I got a message from a friend.

Absence makes the heart go fonder. How I wish this applies all the time. However, sometimes absence just make you forgotten. I am just happy that a friend reminded me that he’s not going anywhere – always beside me even virtually.

Day 4: Surprises

January 04, 2013
Day 4: Surprises

I will forever thank those people who took care of me and taught me with all the knowledge and wisdom that they have.

One of those was Dra. Ara Pua-Quing, my ever so pretty IM senior resident last year. I am just so happy to see her again after a long time. Also, this time she’s pregnant for their second child. You know that old cliché that “Swerte ang buntis”… it was like that blessing was passed on to us… oh well, we hope so…

To Dra. Pua-Quing, we will be praying for your diplomate exam and your pregnancy as well. Thank you for staying with us for a while. I am so happy to see you again. Good luck and God bless to you and your family as well as to your new baby. Naisip ko lang doc, ang magiging name ba ng new baby mo e magstart sa letter D? Para A.B.C.D (?) na kayo… J See you again soon doc. God bless!*Mwah*

Bittersweet Symphony Verse 2: Organized Clutter

This is basically the same template as my version 1. I just edited few codes and add more icons and blog pets as well (see bottom of page). But then my scatterbrain still needs her notepad so I'm sticking with this. (:

Feel free to browse thru my musings/rants/escapades as I tour around my country (and hopefully beyond)... Enjoy! :)
